The sea lions were captured using a Sigma 150-600mm lens. As I zoomed in to edit this photo I noticed a number branded into one of the animal’s hide. Further internet research revealed that sea lions are being branded for study and to eventually prevent some of them from eating salmon that are on their way upstream.
